5 Reasons to Buy and Play Rust
I am not just a noob making another post about Rust. I have 800+ hours logged on this wonderful game and somehow I still manage to keep my wife happy.
Over the last few days I have seen complaints about Rust and I understand the reasoning behind it is pure lack of game play and knowledge behind the fact that this IS an Alpha version of Rust. Most of that also comes from the younger, immature, impatient generation who knows nothing about game development and time management.
Rust is a survival strategy game. You have to use your head and you have to actually invest yourself into the game. Figuring out tactics and ways to stay alive is where it begins. Running around in Kevlar at a metal stationed base is where it ends (currently). With patients comes great reward.
Building and crafting is a blast! The fact you an build your own house with your own design is simply amazing! On top of that you can craft your own weapons and customize them with up to 4 mods (currently)
The suspense is nail-biting. Have you been on a busy server before? If you have, then you know it's suspenseful! Hearing footsteps go by is not so bad but hearing them come close to your house to take a look is even more creepy! Should I let them in? Should I be nice and trust this guy or gal? Should I give them food?
Voice chat in game with anyone. This is a pretty awesome feature. It makes the gameplay that much more interactive and fun. Granted many people use this to troll, it actually can save your life if you know how to talk to people in a civil manner.
Patience is a virtue. This game will teach you patience and how to properly manage your time and what you do in game. Everyone has their own strategies but surviving is another thing. If you don't have patience then perhaps a "half craft" or "instacraft" server is for you.
The dev team listens. The dev team listens to what you say and considers everything. The Research kit being a 1 time use.... that was my idea. You have me to thank (or hate) for that.
Your best bet is to browse the forums and the many Rust groups on Steam to find a group of people to play with. There are always clans and groups looking for people to play with. Playing solo is fine too but less rewarding and more time consuming.
In the end, there are some bad things and good things about Rust but the good highly outweigh the bad. Keep in mind this is ALPHA and many changes will be made! Maybe I gave you more than 5 reasons to buy Rust, but I can go on and on. The majority of the people are too lazy to even read this far though :p
